Explore the benefits of the new energy and infrastructure layers and learn what's new at Nimbus

14/09/2023

Staying ahead of the property game requires access to the most up-to-date and comprehensive information. At Nimbus, we understand the challenges that property developers, surveyors, investors, and stakeholders face daily. We live and breathe it, continuously pushing our technology further to ensure our clients are always one step ahead of the competition.

That's why we're thrilled to announce the launch of our new Energy & Infrastructure layers, a game-changing addition to the Nimbus platform.

Designed to address some of the most pressing challenges facing property professionals today, this new layer includes three applications that have been expertly designed to help you search, plan and scale, faster.

What's new: Energy & Infrastructure layers

1. Underground cables

A significant task faced by developers, surveyors and investors is identifying the location of underground power cables and understanding their capacity. This brand-new layer enables users to now pinpoint the exact location of underground power cables, plus access vital information such as whether they are operated by National Grid or regional DNOs and what load the nearest infrastructure can carry.

To ensure a seamless user-experience we’ve also colour-coded these cables based on their capacity and provided further insights, such as operator information and voltage – all at the click of a button.

2. Pylons

Locating accurate data for Pylons in real-time can cause a headache for many property businesses. By adding in a separate layer that shows the location of pylons operated by either National Grid or regional DNOs, users can now find essential information, including the operator's latitude and longitude, in an instant. Ensuring you have all the information you need to make informed decisions about your property projects, quickly

3. Overhead lines

Overhead power lines are a crucial part of any property development project, which is why making easy and accurate location of them key. Thanks to the inclusion of an Overhead Lines layer, Nimbus users can now access the precise location of these lines with ease and speed.

Plus, each line is colour-coded by their capacity and displays vital details, such as the operator and voltage, when clicked on.

What's changed: improved categories and layer ordering

At Nimbus, we love to listen to our clients. Why? To ensure that our platform delivers precisely what businesses on the ground need when it comes to running a successful property enterprise.

In response to valuable feedback from our users, we've made significant improvements to the platform's locational analysis:

Location analysis: new categories

We've introduced a range of new categories that clearly highlight the layers within each segment. To make it even easier, we've ordered the layers alphabetically. This update ensures a more logical and efficient user-experience, allowing you to find the information you need quickly and effortlessly.

Location Analysis with expanded sections 3-1

While we know this change will benefit our clients in the long run, we also understand how frustrating the adjustment period can be when getting to grips with new categories and layer locations. Luckily, our team is always on hand to help guide you through, simply call 01926 355 424  and we'll be happy to help.

Planning application layer: new national infrastructure category

National Infrastructure Projects can have a substantial impact on nearby properties and developments. To address this, we've introduced a new category within the Planning Application Layer. This category specifically highlights planning applications related to nationally significant infrastructure projects, ensuring that no critical information goes unnoticed – giving you the intel you need to stay one step ahead.
