Credit Controller

The role:

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Credit Controller to take ownership of customer collections and debtor management across the business. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role is critical to protecting cash flow, reducing debtor days, and supporting scalable growth as the company continues to expand.

Key responsibilities:

Own the end‑to‑end credit control process across all customers.

Proactively manage debtor balances in line with agreed credit control timelines (e.g. 7 / 14 / 21 / 28-day cycles).

Chase overdue invoices by phone and email, resolving queries promptly to avoid payment delays.

Work closely with Sales, Finance and Customer Success teams to resolve billing and contractual queries.

Monitor failed and late payments across card and Direct Debit collections.

Support the transition of customers onto Direct Debit where appropriate.

Prepare regular debtor reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting risks and actions required.

Escalate high‑risk or long‑outstanding. 

About you:

Previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role.

Strong understanding of cashflow, debtor risk and collection best practice.

Confident communicator with the ability to have firm but professional conversations with customers.

Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Comfortable working with finance systems, billing platforms and spreadsheets.

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
